In its twenty-first global M&A, Aerodyne Group entered the Italian market directly by making a strategic investment in Aiviewgroup, the country’s largest drone service provider.

After partnering with Italian asset tracking and mapping business Easy City Srl (known as Dron-e) in June 2021, this is Aerodyne’s second excursion into Italy.

According to a statement from Aerodyne, by working together with the Rome-based Aiviewgroup, both parties may take advantage of synergies in their respective technological and subject-matter areas and reach a larger worldwide audience. In 2026, it is anticipated that the market for commercial drone software and services in Italy would reach US$595 million (RM2.64 billion).

Aiviewgroup is an excellent partner because of its history of working with prominent clients, particularly in the infrastructure inspection industry. This enables Aerodyne to take advantage of Aiviewgroup’s superior infrastructure inspection expertise and market access to increase its capabilities and reach internationally.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Aiviewgroup to Aerodyne. Through this partnership Aiviewgroup will be able to capitalize on the Aerodyne’s deep and proven track record in drone and data technology for nested drone systems and advanced mobility to expand into new markets, including remote autonomous drone-based solutions, and AI-powered analytics which offer better value to their customers,” said Kamarul A Muhamed, founder and Group CEO of Aerodyne.

“Partnering with Aerodyne is an exciting opportunity for Aiviewgroup and our management team will continue to drive the company’s growth,” said Stefano Gennenzi, Aiviewgroup CEO.

“We are eager to combine our expertise and local market access with Aerodyne’s global presence and enviable track record of success. We believe that the synergies between our companies will enable us to deliver even more value to our customers and develop the most innovative and effective solutions for their needs,” said Nicola Marietti, Aiviewgroup’s General Manager.

After selling most of its shares in the Danish wind turbine inspection company AtSite in April 2020, the acquisition offers Aerodyne its first direct presence in Europe. It entered an arrangement with German firms Quanto AG and Taku International LLC in January 2021 to provide their markets in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with drone solutions.

The German Quality and Finance Institute includes Aiviewgroup in its ranking of 600 companies with the largest economic expansion in Italy over the three-year period of 2017-2020 in a study published in late 2021 after surveying 12,000 Italian companies.
