Blue Innovation received a request for bridge inspection from Wajima City under JUIDA, and carried out bridge inspections using the spherical drone ELIOS 3 in the city on January 31st.

Due to the effects of ground upheaval caused by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, there are some areas where roads in Wajima City and the boundaries between roads and bridges are uneven. Even in such a state, it is still used as an important transportation route within the city.

They used the ELIOS 3, which can fly under bridge girders and box girders where GPS cannot reach, to check for damage in areas that cannot be seen visually.

They expanded the range of  previous flights and flew to the deepest part of the Ushio River, confirming the entire target area.

Bridge inspections (5 locations) were conducted in the Wajima city area using the spherical drone ELIOS 3.

In February, they started operating an automatic river monitoring system. The drone automatically takes off and lands from the BEP port and flies back and forth upstream of the Ushio River. They regularly monitor the status of sediment dams from the air.

A drone port (BEP port) was installed in Machino-cho, Wajima City to fly drones automatically and regularly to continuously monitor the status of the earth and sand dam that was created on the Ushio River (a tributary of the Suzuya River) that flows through Wajima City. Installation has been completed at the specified location.
