SkyDrive Inc. (SkyDrive) (CEO: Tomohiro Fukuzawa) and Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (President: Hiroyuki Okamoto) have entered into a supporter contract to assist worldwide transportation for SkyDrive’s research, development, and marketing efforts.

In July 2018, SkyDrive was founded with the goal of “taking the lead in the once-in-a-century mobility revolution.” In order to realise a future in which people commute by air, the business creates eVTOL(*) planes and freight drones that can move goods weighing up to 30 kg. SkyDrive was successful in the first manned flight experiment in Japan in 2019 and has subsequently moved eVTOL aircraft development forward. The eVTOL from SkyDrive is scheduled to fly during the EXPO in 2025.

In order to achieve the mission of fostering sustainable growth for both business and society, Yusen Logistics define its mission as becoming the supply chain logistics industry’s top choice. In order to challenge the practical application of eVTOLs and provide logistical support, they have grown along with the advancement of aviation technology and entered into a supporter contract with SkyDrive, which is advancing the aerospace industry and generating new value.

Tomohiro Fukuzawa, the CEO of SkyDrive, sent Yusen Logistics the following message, “With Southeast Asia and America as our target areas, we will expand our worldwide company. We are thrilled to have the help of Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd., a company with extensive expertise in global logistics and worldwide growth. Utilising the network of Yusen Logistics, we will gain a lot of knowledge and boost the eVTOLs industry.”

According to Yusen Logistics President Hiroyuki Okamoto, “We support SkyDrive’s effort to realise an air transportation civilization. We eagerly anticipate the emergence of a society where individuals commute using SkyDrive’s eVTOLs in the not-too-distant future.”

We will offer the best supply chain logistics services and support programmes with an environmentally friendly long-term perspective in accordance with our goal of “Connecting people, businesses, and communities to a better future – through logistics.”

Electric vertical take-off and landing is abbreviated as eVTOL. Electrification, autopilot, and vertical takeoff and landing are the characteristics of eVTOLs. The creation of eVTOLs is being encouraged in several nations throughout the world as a brand-new breakthrough in the realm of transportation. The Public-Private Council for Air Mobility Revolution was founded in Japan in 2018 and has been meeting ever then.
