Drones have been utilized for monitoring prescribed fire using videography and thermal imaging, as well as evaluating the forest post-fire (Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 2021). ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Shri R. Arun Kumar is an Indian Forest Service officer of 2009 batch hailing from Tamil Nadu. He has done Indian Forest Service professional training at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun from 2009 to 2011.
From July 2021, he served as Deputy Conservator of Forests, Resource Survey and Forest Economics in the Silviculture Division at Forest Research Institute. Now, he is the Secretary of the Indian Council for Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dehradun.
