Position Summary:

Essential Functions
• Conduct on premise geographical information system (GIS) analysing / digitizing work for oil palm mapping data, using expertise in Esri ArcGIS Desktop / QGIS.
• Analysing spatial data through the use of mapping software
• Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data
• Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources
• Producing maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data
• Mapping of canals, drainage and boundary areas in the plantation
• Assisting the agronomy department in new oil palm replanting procedures
• Ability to fly drones will be an advantage
Minimum Qualifications
• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Science Computer / Geoinformatics / Geomatic or equivalent disciplines
• Minimum 3 years of experience in GIS / mapping is a requirement
• Experience in the geospatial / GIS field and web-based application development of oil palm plantation is an advantage
• Experience in field research and knowledge in oil palm and sustainable agriculture will be an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and IT skills.
• Knowledge and field implementation of GPS/GIS or precision agriculture is an advantage.
• Willing to learn, self-motivated, lots of initiative and have high degree of discipline.
• Willing to work and live in plantation environment.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
